🎀 Introducing Chi Moses

Updated: Dec 7, 2025

Today, December 7th, was Chi’s due date.

But our sweet girl decided to show up early — and right on time.

Chi Moses was born on November 19, 2025

✨ 6 lbs 15 oz

✨ 20 inches long

✨ And on a day that already meant so much to me: the charter day of Epsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, my initiating chapter.

So yes — we’ll always remember the moment she arrived, not just because she changed our world, but because it felt divinely timed.

🌇 The Story Behind Her Name

We named her Chi (pronounced like Chi-town), not only because it’s beautiful and powerful, but because it holds deep meaning for us.

I’ve always had a strong adoration for Chicago — the energy, the culture, the memories. Many of our loved ones live there, and during our last visit, Anthony joined me for what turned out to be a magical trip. So magical, in fact, that we ended up eloping there — and coming home as husband and wife.

A couple weeks later, we found out we’d soon be adding “mom” and “dad” to our titles, too.

Naming her Chi was our way of honoring that moment, that city, that shift in our story — from “us” to all three of us.

💌 A Moment to Say Thank You

Many of you already knew she was here. Some of you received pictures right away. Others are just now finding out — and we wanted to share her newborn portraits with you all at once, with love and intention.

Our village has truly shown up for us.

From the gifts that arrived before she did, to the prayers, texts, and packages that keep coming — we are deeply grateful for how we’re being supported in this new season.

The best advice we received came from our brother and sister:

“Take time to isolate. Get to know each other. Just the three of you.”

And that’s what we’ve been doing.

Soaking up our girl. Learning her. Watching her become… her.

🍼 So Far, Here’s What We’ve Learned…

  • Chi does not like diaper changes.

We think it’s the cold wipes. I’m working on convincing dad that a wipe warmer isn’t a waste of money. 😂

  • She has perfect timing.

She came after our new members class at church wrapped, and just before Thanksgiving — where she got to meet so much of her family.

  • And today, on her due date, she got to meet her church family, too — as Anthony and I were installed as new members of our congregation. Full circle.

We weren’t sure we’d even make it to that service, but Chi made sure we could.

Whether we had been in the hospital or in the sanctuary — today was going to be a beautiful day either way.

💖 Thank You for Being a Part of This

Thank you for praying for us. For loving us. For showing up.

We’re adjusting, resting, learning, laughing (and yes, crying) — and we’re thankful to have a village like ours.

With love,

Jazmyn, Anthony & Chi
