🏈 Browns Loss, Pretzel Win: A Sunday Well-Spent

Updated: Sep 15

Okay, yes — we skipped church again 🫣.

And yes — the Browns lost. Again.

But it wasn’t all a loss. In fact, we had a great Sunday. 🙌🏾

We spent the day at Anthony’s line brother’s house, who hosted an incredible Browns watch party that totally made up for the scoreboard. His backyard was completely transformed — from tents to décor, food setups to a full-on outdoor projector and screen, everything was on point. Like… Pinterest-level hosting.

🎉 The Setup Deserves Its Own Praise

It took them the whole weekend to set everything up — and it showed. There were tables, tents, yard signs, music, a bar, everything. The host and hostess really understood the assignment. All we had to bring was our own lawn chairs — which wasn’t a problem at all because Anthony and I keep ours in the trunk. (We also keep a folding card table back there, just in case. You’d be surprised how often it comes in handy!)

But now? I’ve got my eye on a LifeTime folding table that one of the guests brought. It was the perfect size and height to go with lawn chairs — way better than the oversized card table we’ve been dragging around. It’s on my list!

🍽️ Food, Fellowship, & Styrofoam To-Go Plates

Let’s talk about the food. Hot entrées. Sweet desserts. Cold drinks. It was all there. The hosts even set out styrofoam containers for everyone to take food home — which just speaks to their level of hosting excellence. They had thought of everything.

And let me pause to shout out the hostess, who was on it. She didn’t miss a beat. While cleaning up after the game, she noticed my container of homemade soft pretzel nuggets hadn’t been touched. Y’all… I spent hours on those nuggets the night before and was so worried no one liked them.

But this woman? She took it upon herself to bag up the nuggets into sandwich bags and pass them out like they were party favors. And I’m so grateful she did — because not only did they get taken home, but I also had people come up and tell me how much they loved them!

They were like, “These are SO GOOD — you have to bring them every time!”

Some said their bag of 6 to 8 nuggets didn’t even make it out of the backyard. Music to my ears. 🎶

🥨 The Pretzel Nugget Legacy Begins

No, we didn’t take any pretzel nuggets home.

Yes, we already had some at the house.

And yes… we also had pretzel dogs waiting. 🤭

Eventually, I’ll share the recipe. I’m still working out a few things like the size and color (they gotta look good too, okay?). But when it’s ready, y’all will be the first to know.

💛 Final Thoughts

So yes — the Browns lost (shocker), but our Sunday was full of good people, great food, and another reminder of why community matters.

We didn’t go to church… but in some ways, we still got a little bit of soul food.

And in the meantime, enjoy these photos from the day.
